Wedding Ceremony Singing at Grendon Lakes, Northamptonshire

I recently had the pleasure of singing during a wedding ceremony at Grendon Lakes in Northamptonshire. This beautiful lakeside venue is one of my favourite places to perform. The countryside setting and water views make it a stunning backdrop for a wedding day.
The Ceremony
I sang as the bride walked down the aisle, with a song chosen especially for the moment, " I will always love you"
There's something magical about performing outdoors by the lake. The setting adds so much emotion to the ceremony, there was also a very confident duck that wanted to watch on from the front row!
The Weather
The sky was very overcast on the morning of the wedding, and rain looked very likely. But it stayed dry, and by the time the ceremony began the sun came out. It made the lake look beautiful for the bride and groom.
The Songs
I sang four songs for the bride and her husband: "I Will Always Love You" as the bride entered "Lego House" by Ed Sheeran & "Hometown Glory" by Adele and the couple signed the register and "How Long Will I Love You" by Ellie Goulding for their exit as newly weds.
They weren't the most expected choices for a wedding ceremony, but each one was special to the couple, and that's what matters most.
The bride told me that the words in "I Will Always Love You" meant a lot to her, because it was her way of saying goodbye to her last name.
My Advice for Choosing Your Ceremony Songs
Spend some time listening to your favourite songs and albums. Think about the music that was around you when you were dating.
There are loads of Spotify playlists of wedding music too. If you're stuck, put one on while you have a nice dinner together.
The best advice I can give you as a singer is to read the lyrics. Are these the words you want to say to your partner and to your guests?
I often perform stripped back versions with acoustic guitar or piano backing tracks for wedding ceremonies. If the lyrics are on point, there won't be a dry eye in the house.
