A 60th Birthday to Remember: Live Music from Motown to Disco the 80s and beyond.
Some of my favourite bookings come from people who've seen me perform somewhere completely different first. That's exactly how Janice found me.
From Banbury Pride to a 60th Birthday
Janice first saw me perform at Banbury Pride 2024 and loved the energy of the show. Not long after, she booked me for her milestone 60th birthday party in October 2025.
The Night
For Janice's party, I brought a set spanning the decades: 80s and 90s classics, Motown, and Disco.
Reading the room is one of the most important parts of what I do. Every crowd is different, and the best nights happen when the music matches the energy in the room, exactly like it did for Janice's party.
The theme of the night was "Posh Frocks & S**t Shirts," and I compered the competition. We got a conga going around the room so the DJ could pick the best dress, and I had the pleasure of judging the shirts. They were awesome.
A bright yellow shirt covered in bananas. A unicorn poop design. A crazy Christmas santa. But the winner for me was a psychedelic cat shirt.
Top tip if you want to win a competition I'm judging: wear cats. I love cats.
